Vesting
The Vest has been making Ben sleepy when he uses it. I’ll admit, it makes me sleepy too when he’s laying on me. Last night, he started to get fussy only half way through our session so it was time to break out fun toys.
First, I brought out a small chair my parents got him last Christmas. I thought it would be nice for him to sit up off the ground.
At one point we needed to bust out his paci (which he usually only gets in his crib) and Bunns and Mr. Giraffe, his beloved sleeping animals.
However, it was Ryan who got him to get through his full half hour.
Eventually he laid back to rest.

Back
Ryan is back home and Ben and I are so excited. It’s so nice to have him back, we missed him! Ben has been following Ryan around since he’s returned! I think he can tell he was missed….
This weekend is Great Strides and YOU can still sign up. Click
to join our team or donate. GS is stroller and dog friendly so bring out as many people as possible.
After GS Ryan and I are off for a grown-up weekend away. We are heading out to Napa to do some wine tasting, relaxing and enjoying an adult meal. I can’t wait! However, I am a bit nervous to leave Ben. I haven’t been away from him over night in 6 months. I know he is in good hands with my parents though.

Playdate
Today, my MOPS group met at a park in Lincoln instead of at church. It was nice because I was able to take Ben with me. Lincoln is a bit of a drive but we decided to go anyway.
Whitney Ranch park was pretty much the coolest park I have been too. It was three stories high and had tons of running around room.
Ran around
Made new friends
But our favorite activity was the swings
I only wish these pictures could talk. He was squealing with delight!

Treatments
I have to say- I’m loving treatments. They have been going so well. Our new eFlow system is a breeze and Ben has been handling the vest well. Today we vested for 25 minutes, almost our full time of 30 minutes.
Our eFlow system is easy to clean and doesn’t take as long as I thought.
This is the size of Ben’s new nebulizer. It’s also completely silent. We are still using “bubbles the fish” mask.
The blue disk also hooks up to the neb part so it can run on batteries alone. Right now, we have it plugged in. I’m trying to capture a video of Ben doing the vest while he’s been doing his mooo sound. It sounds hilarious! Ryan, we miss you!!

Conner
Conner’s mom, Sarah, put together a video for him. Warning: break out the kleenex.
Children are dying from this nasty disease. We need to find a cure.
We will be wearing red ribbons on May 1st in honor of Conner.

Vest Video
Here is Ben, using the vest for the first time! The video isn’t too long, I’m by myself and I wanted to sit with him incase of a freakout. He did amazing though!
The Vest has arrived from Margaux Hughes on Vimeo.
The Vest inflates around Ben and shakes him. This helps break up the mucus in his chest. Later on, he’ll be able to stop and cough it up but for now we are just starting out at ten minutes. We want him to get used to it but I don’t think that it’s going to take too long.
Our eFlow system came today and I am in love with it! Our TOBI treatment time went from 20+ minutes to only 4! It’s also completely silent. I highly recommend it!

My little blood-sucker
My mom and I took Ben to the My Museum in Monterey today. It’s a kids museum that is completely hands-on. He’ll really enjoy it when he gets a bit older but he did have fun running around. Then we found the bat costume.
I know I’ve been a little picture crazy lately, I’m just trying to keep Ryan in the loop. We miss you daddy!!
Tomorrow
Our Vest arrives!! We are so excited!! I was supposed to stay in Carmel until Thursday but I think I will be going home tomorrow. I am just so excited to try out our new vest. I’m disappointed Ryan won’t be here to see our first time but I don’t think I can wait til Monday to try it out. Of course there will be numerous amounts of photos and a video!
Yesterday, Ben’s Boppa put up a swing in their backyard for him. Ben had so much fun, swinging pants-less!
Have I mentioned that I’m still loving my new camera? I am!!

Not me Monday
Okay, I think I finally figured out how to do MckMama’s “Not Me” Monday. Thanks Jen!
This week we’ve been having fun in Carmel with my parents. However, we are getting used to having dogs around. It was not me who turned around to find Ben eating dog food. Nope, not me, I’m always attentive to my child! It was also not me who came around the corner to find Ben letting Nala lick his milk cup. Nope. Always attentive. I would never let dog germs come near my son.
It was also not me who woke up a bit parched with a headache on Saturday due to some champagne. Nope, not me. I always wake up bright-eyed and bushy tailed.
Since we’ve been so busy I’ve been neglecting my mom chores. It’s not my son who is wearing the same outfit from a couple days ago. No, I’m the perfect mom who always puts clean clothes on her son. It is also not me who is blogging instead of doing those chores!
That was fun! Maybe I’ll do it again next week. I’m off to do some much-needed chores!

Benjamin bucket
The weather has been gorgeous out here in Carmel. So, we’ve been taking advantage of it, and soaking up some good vitamin E. My mom pulled out a bucket for Ben to play in and we let him go with no diaper. He loved it! Can you tell he’s a boy, ha!

A few of my favorite things
We are down at my parents house, in Carmel for the week, having lots of fun. I thought I’d post up some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken over the last few days.
In Santa Rosa visiting family:
Around the house (these one’s are for Ryan, since he’s gone!):
